Rebecca Linda sang two of her hit songs, "Texas And Tennessee" and "We Will Remember", both written by Robert Frank, to the delight of the large and excited crowd. Rebecca Linda performing "Proud To Serve" and "Never Be Apart Anymore" from her Patriotic album, American Heroes, during the cold and windy but emotionally-charged Candelight Vigil on Sunday night, Memorial Day weekend, at the Vietnam Veterans National Memorial at Angel Fire, N.M. Both songs were written by Dr. Robert Frank Smith and Rebecca Linda. This special event was even more emotional as it was the 40th anniversary of
the death of LT David Westphall whose father, the late Dr. Victor Westphall, founded the Memorial and dedicated it in 1971, eleven years before "The Wall" in Washington, D.C. This Memorial is situated at about 8500 feet in elevation and overlooks the peaceful Moreno Valley and the village of Angel Fire, N.M. It is a place of healing for all of those veterans of that war. Rebecca Linda performing two songs from her Patriotic album, American Heroes, during Memorial Day ceremonies at the Vietnam Veterans National Memorial at Angel Fire, N.M. She first sang "American Heroes" written by her and her husband, Robert Frank Smith, and was thanked afterwards by several in the large crowd for writing a song that honors not only our 'heroes' in uniform but those who are 'heroes' in other avenues of life like nurses and teachers and all who care. She closed with "We Will Remember", a 9/11 song written by Robert Frank on the fifth anniversary of that sad but noble day in our nation's history. Afterwards, an American Airlines flight attendant thanked Robert Frank for writing this powerful song as she sobbed and asked if she could use it for training with their flight attendants. He gave her the album. The POW flag symbolizes all those Prisoners of War and Missing in Action who have not returned.
